Never before in the history of design in crystal has the world seen such a stunning departure from the norm than with John Rocha’s Black Cut design.  In developing this amazing creation, world famous style guru, John Rocha has broken all the coventions of design in crystal.  Only a few years ago, no one would have believed that an opaque black glass could possibly have any chance of commercial appeal.  The technique certainly isn’t straightforward.  John Rocha has used the cased glass method, whereby there is the clear crystal object is dipped into a vat of molten black crystal.  When it has cooled, the craftsman cuts through the black layer to reveal the stunning contrasting sparkle of clear crystal beneath.  Black Cut Crystal by John Rocha – without doubt magic of the designer’s dark art at its very best.
